A daily glass of freshly light-infused, hydrogen-rich water. One machine on your counter.
Two filter stages, hydrogen enrichment and LifeWave's light-infusion process, together in one refillable machine. Fill the reservoir, start a cycle and come back to two 450 ml glasses in about 45 minutes. Your kitchen tap stays free.
I would choose X2O for having filtration, hydrogen enrichment and the light stage in one unit that needs no tap connection. It runs a cycle while breakfast happens, and the screen tells you when the filters are due.

About USD 0.64 per glass in a ten-year ownership scenario, including a retail filter budget, for four people drinking one glass each daily. This assumes one machine lasts ten years; it is not a lifespan promise. See the assumptions and other costs →

Why I would choose it
Keep the tap free. The reservoir gives you a countertop setup without a faucet connection.
Share the routine. Two glasses per cycle suit two people; a second cycle prepares the next pair.
Bring the stages together. Filtration, hydrogen enrichment and light processing happen in the same unit.
Plan a place for it
You will need a power socket, room to refill the reservoir and the clearance specified in the manual. Four glasses take about 90 minutes of processing. If your household needs several litres immediately, compare a system designed for that flow.
There is some upkeep: clean the reservoir, replace the filters and flush them as instructed. The touchscreen prompts you through the process.
Specifications and care instructions: LifeWave's US product page and X2O user manual. Use approved drinking water; the manual warns against microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality.
WHAT YOU ARE BUYING
Three stages, with different evidence behind them.
The combined process is the reason to look at X2O. Here is what each stage adds to the machine, and how far the research goes.
01 · LIGHT INFUSION
The LifeWave light-processing stage
After filtration and hydrogen enrichment, the water passes through light-processing chambers. LifeWave calls the output Light-Infused Water. For someone interested in this process, X2O puts it inside the same countertop routine.
Four small LifeWave-funded reports describe short-term physiological or bioenergetic changes, including two papers from Study 2. Each reports 20 adults; these are not four independent replications, and the findings do not establish a health benefit.
Read the four light-water reports
The Study 2 physical-data paper describes a same-day test and attributes its between-group HRV result to a control-group decrease, with no active-group change. Study I and Study 3 gave treated water to both groups, so they could not isolate the light stage. Study 2 meridian-data paper reports additional exploratory measures. Both Study 2 papers compare treated with untreated water and share the study identifier, demographics and funding. Blinding is described inconsistently across them, and the small sample and many comparisons limit the conclusions.
02 · HYDROGEN
A way to prepare hydrogen-enriched water at home
Molecular hydrogen has been studied in human trials independently of LifeWave. There are positive findings worth examining, including small cholesterol changes in a 2026 review of 13 trials. The authors called those changes clinically modest; the wider findings are mixed.
Those studies did not test X2O. The public product page and manual give no dissolved-hydrogen concentration, so the research cannot establish a health benefit from this machine.
Read the hydrogen findings and their limits
The review mainly concerns adults with excess weight and metabolic conditions. It found small total- and LDL-cholesterol reductions, no triglyceride benefit and a small fall in HDL; the authors did not recommend hydrogen water as a lipid-lowering treatment. Larger trials include a phase 3 COVID-19 study with 675 people analysed that found no reduction in clinical worsening, and a 178-person Parkinson's study that did not replicate an earlier small pilot. These results concern particular populations and regimens; concentration alone would not establish that they apply to X2O.
03 · FILTRATION
Two filters before the light stage
LifeWave describes the primary filter as designed to reduce impurities in municipal tap water. The secondary stage adds hydrogen as part of the filtration process, so you prepare the water in one unit.
The company says testing and NSF certification in the X2O configuration are still in progress. Its product page does not yet provide verified contaminant-removal figures for this machine. If removal of a particular contaminant is your priority, ask for that test result before choosing a filter.
My buying case is the combination and the daily setup. If those appeal to you, the next question is how the machine fits your household's use and budget.
THE HOUSEHOLD COST
Spread the purchase across the glasses you use.
Sharing X2O makes a substantial difference to the cost per glass. For four people using it daily, a ten-year scenario works out at about USD 0.64 a glass for the machine and replacement filters. The upfront purchase is still USD 5,995.
What the figures assume
Four people, each drinking one 450 ml glass daily: 1,460 glasses a year. One machine at USD 5,995, plus a replacement-filter budget of USD 340 each year at current retail prices. Each row assumes the same machine remains usable for that whole period, with no replacement purchase.

These are cost scenarios, not service-life estimates or instalment offers. Monthly figures are rounded to whole dollars. They exclude tax, shipping, electricity, source water, financing charges, repairs and any paid warranty extension, and assume unchanged filter prices. LifeWave's reviewed documents give no expected service life; the included warranty is 12 months.
Buying for one? With one glass daily, the same ten-year scenario is about USD 2.57 per glass. For four people, allow two 45-minute cycles. The strongest value case is a machine that the household will use regularly.
Budget USD 170 per filter change
The retail bundle includes both filters. LifeWave lists a Preferred Customer bundle at USD 150. Plan to replace both at six months or when prompted sooner; higher use can bring that forward. Follow the manual to drain the system, replace the filters and flush each one. See current pricing on LifeWave's store →
Choose your warranty cover
The included 12-month limited warranty covers qualifying defects, with repair, replacement or refund at LifeWave's discretion. Filters are excluded. You can request four additional years of cover for a fee within 12 months of purchase; ask for the price and terms. From day 31, the manual assigns warranty shipping costs to the customer. Choosing between X2O and another setup?
If you are considering Kangen K8
The US retail prices are close: USD 5,995 for X2O and USD 5,890 for K8. X2O keeps the tap free; K8 connects to a compatible faucet, offers five water types and supplies much more water on demand. K8 also includes a five-year warranty. Compare the features, upkeep and return fees →
If you are considering a portable bottle
Decide which features you want, then compare the specific model's hydrogen output, filtration, capacity and warranty. X2O's case is its refillable two-glass format with filtration and light processing in the same unit. If you want something to carry with you, portability may matter more than that countertop setup.

Ready to make room for X2O?
Tell me how many people will use it and where you plan to put it. I can help you work through the setup, delivered price and warranty before you order.
LifeWave specifies about 45 minutes for two 450 ml glasses. The next two need another cycle, so four glasses take about 90 minutes of processing. The reservoir holds 2 litres, and the screen shows when the water is ready.
How much X2O water does LifeWave recommend?
LifeWave recommends one 450 ml glass daily, preferably in the morning, in addition to your usual water intake. This is the company’s usage guidance, not a clinically established dose. It recommends drinking the water soon after dispensing.
Does X2O need plumbing?
No tap connection is needed. You fill the reservoir by hand and plug the machine into a power socket. Follow the manual for clearance, approved water types, flushing and cleaning. It warns against using microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality.
What does the filter remove?
LifeWave describes its primary filter as designed to reduce impurities in municipal tap water. Its product page says testing and NSF certification in the X2O configuration are still in progress, so it cannot yet make formal written contaminant claims. The page does not provide a verified removal table for this machine.
What do replacement filters cost?
The US retail bundle for both filters is USD 170; the listed Preferred Customer bundle is USD 150. Budget for two bundles a year on the six-month schedule, or earlier replacement if the screen prompts you. That is USD 340 at retail or USD 300 at the listed Preferred price, before shipping and tax. Filters are replaced and flushed manually.
Does X2O have the 90-day money-back guarantee?
No. X2O has a separate policy. A used return within seven days of receipt carries a USD 100 restocking fee, customer-paid shipping and any required packaging charge. After seven days and before 30 days, the fee rises to USD 500 plus original and return shipping. Return authorisation and eligibility conditions apply. Defective units have different terms, and the limited warranty is separate from this return window.
Can I pay monthly?
LifeWave offers PayPal Pay Later at checkout, subject to approval and the terms PayPal offers you. Check the interest, fees, deposit if any, and total repayable before choosing it. The monthly equivalents in this page’s cost table are ownership calculations, not financing quotes. Replacement filters cannot be financed through LifeWave’s advertised arrangement.
Can I buy X2O outside the United States?
LifeWave currently lists X2O for the US, excluding California, Wisconsin and Iowa. Its product page says use outside the US voids the warranty. Check your delivery address with LifeWave before ordering; an overseas launch date is not confirmed here.
How much hydrogen is in the finished water?
The public LifeWave product page and manual reviewed on 14 September 2026 give no dissolved-hydrogen concentration. Concentration, volume and the study population matter when comparing research with a product. The studies discussed here did not test X2O and cannot establish its health benefits.
How does X2O compare with Kangen K8?
X2O has a refillable reservoir and prepares two glasses per cycle. Kangen K8 connects to a compatible faucet, supplies much more water on demand and offers five water types, including non-drinking settings. US retail prices checked on 9 September 2026 were USD 5,995 and USD 5,890 respectively. K8 includes a longer warranty; X2O keeps the tap free. Neither specification list establishes better health outcomes.
Product details: US catalogue · User manual · Return policy. LifeWave's product page also carries a California Proposition 65 warning concerning tetrafluoroethylene exposure.
